To all the disagree-ers, that's great. Next time, tell me why, and I'll be sure to leave a reply.

It just seems silly for something that requires such precise timing as DDR to be used with Kinect, same with any "___ Hero" games. I'm not "hating" (Christ I hate that, I guess, terminology), I'm simply trying to figure out what people really see in this tech while pointing out what I see. There are many other ways to implement what Kinect is doing here with 2D cameras, and with controllers, and with other periperals (mats, etc). I'm just saying, why would you ...

All the rays used to detect the entire body are being used to detect the arm and hand in that instance, so it's going to be picked up. It's not about how complex the gestures are (to an extent), but if Kinect has the rays to 'read' them.

The dots represent rays, well for ease of explanation anyway, and so when you see them playing the giant piano, you will understand why Kinect has trouble with hand movements while tracking the body at the same time. There...

But why! Why would you want to use DDR with Kinect when there's already a mat that is more responsive, has physical feedback, and is visible!

These apps are showing how Kinect COULD work, but very few have shown how Kinect can be advantageous in its application. No doubt this is a neat tech demo, and the guys who made it should be happy with creating such a cool toy. However, does this mean it should be used for DDR or "Piano Hero"? Not quite. There's too ma...

Good to see someone else has noticed the same thing. However, the Da Vinci demo would have a much harder time tracking hands with a purely 2D camera, as the 3D camera can quickly tell Kinect where the closest 'points' are, and it simply tracks these parts. I also think the Eye would struggle with tracking the fingers opening and closing. But you're right, most of the applications we've seen so far can be done with a regular camera.

The easiest way to test if i...

People who understand the technology won't find these applications that are being shown surprising.

"I cant believe the stuff possible with Kinect"

I really am stumped as to how many people get amazed by these little tech demos and jump to the idea of them being implemented into games and still being fun. Don't be me wrong, these ARE neat little tech demos. But, I knew it could do all this, and I haven't been impressed since it was annou...

Who the hell agreed with this? Also, with the "Already been reported thing". I think posts should receive multiple reports, so Mods don't have to sift through as many questionable ones

For those confused by the title, I think they mean that DLC released for all future Call of Duty games (before 2012) will appear on PS3 and PC 30 days after it does on the 360.

Something I noticed... There's no rain out the rear view mirror? :S

Looks outstanding otherwise

...It tracks a position in 3D space, and has accelerometers and tilt sensors. It's pretty much like constantly having the position, rotation, velocity, and acceleration of an object in 3D space. It's hardly lacking any data, as you seem to be suggesting.

Lipstick on a pig? I mean, the franchise really isn't selling that well after 10,000 editions

I'm just saying it's not something that Kinect specifically has attempted and just done poorly. It's just a natural limitation of the method.

It's a fault in the way faces are recognised by cameras in general. It follows a formula that gives the basic location of features on the face (where the eyes, nose and mouth should be, how far apart they are etc.). The pixels are analysed to see where these areas lie. The difference in pixels is created by light and the shadows it creates. Because people with darker skin have less variation between their highlighted and shadowed skin, it is harder to recognise where their features are.

She says they have 4 or 5 people coming in for the Move daily, but they only don't have the stock to supply them, with only 1 available basically.

She said they know it as, "The Wii, but better". So I guess Sony's marketing is working over here somehow? :P

Well, their big chance, atleast. They've had years to prepare devs to create a new, exciting experience - One that only Kinect could create. And what came out of that? Not a lot. Of course it is possible for interesting ideas to develop, but at this moment in time, it's not looking promising.

What colour are we?

To be fair though, EA has picked up their game considerably.
